What It Costs, What You’ll Get, and Why My Students Keep Showing Up

Ready to Rethink Drum Lessons? This Might Just Change the Way You Learn—For Good. 👇

Why Hello There,

I see you’ve been clicking around… 😉

And you’ve made it to the Lessons & Pricing page!

Nice. 👍

If you or someone you know is looking to learn drums in
St. Catharines and actually make progress, you’re in the right place.

Maybe you're brand new and want to make sure you’re learning the right way from the start.

Or maybe you’ve been at it for a while but feel stuck….

and no matter how much you practice, you're not improving the way you imagined you would.

I get it.

I’ve been there too.

You sit behind the kit, excited to play… but not sure where to start.

Your hands aren’t fast enough.

Your grooves aren’t sitting in the pocket.

Your fills feel sloppy….. 😞

So what do you do?

You hit YouTube of course!

But before you know it, you've spent more time watching drumming than actually playing.

Sound familiar?

It's not your fault.

Most drummers try to teach themselves, but without real feedback, a clear plan, and someone to guide them… progress can be slow.

That’s why I teach in-person drum lessons right here in
St. Catharines.

Drumming doesn’t have to feel like a struggle.

You just need the right guidance, a plan that makes sense, and someone in your corner to help you get better.

If that’s what you’re after, let’s get you on the right track.

What You’ll Learn

Lessons are just the start — my goal is to help you play with skill, confidence, and purpose.

In every private lesson, you’ll get:

  • A clear, structured plan so you know exactly what to work on next
  • Real-time feedback so you don’t build bad habits
  • A fast, direct path to playing the music you love

Nobody wants to spend six months reading sheet music before they ever play a real song.

(Not that reading sheet music is bad….)

That’s why I get you behind the kit and playing right from day one, using a simple number system that makes it way easier to follow.

You’ll see what I mean. 😎

Here’s what we’ll cover, tailored to your level and goals:

Hands
Speed, control, and precision
Feet
Coordination, speed & proper technique
Grooves
Rhythms for rock, pop, worship, gospel, and more
Fills
Add flavour and creativity to your playing
Independence
Build four-limb coordination
Rudiments
Master the essentials of drumming
Pocket
Lock into the beat and improve your timing
Musicality
Learn to play expressively and confidently
Tuning
Yes, we’ll even tackle the dreaded drum tuning

This is real skill development. No Nonsense. No guesswork.

Why Private Lessons?

There’s nothing wrong with online lessons, they can be great.

You get flexibility, convenience, and access to top players.

But they’re missing something essential.

Feedback.

A YouTube video or streaming platform can’t hear how you’re hitting the drums.

It won’t fix your grip or your timing.

It can’t help you troubleshoot your kit setup.

And let’s be honest here….

Most beginners don’t need more information.

They need a guide, an instructor or a coach.

(Maybe all three).

Here’s what in-person drum lessons offer that no online course ever will:

Instant feedback and corrections

Real accountability so you stay motivated

A structured learning path that’s actually tailored for you

A real kit, in a real space, with a real teacher beside you

When you work with me, you're not just taking drum lessons in St. Catharines…

You're gaining a coach who cares about your progress.

Who wins when you win and won’t let you settle for average.

You’ve GOT Questions? I’ve Got Answers.

How much do drum lessons cost?

$20 for 30 minutes, $40 for an hour. Your first drum lesson is free.

Pre-pay for your 4 drum lessons for the month, and get the 4th lesson 50% off.

How often should I take drum lessons?

I structure my lessons weekly.  If you decide this is where you’d like to learn drums, we’ll get you plugged into a weekly spot that's yours until you decide you're done 👍

Do I really get free sticks with my first lesson?

Yep!  Come in for your free trial drum lesson, and you’ll leave with a fresh pair of drumsticks to take home. It’s my way of saying welcome—and helping you start right.

Do I need a drum set to start?

No drum set? No problem. You can begin on a practice pad or use my kit during lessons. I’ll help you pick the right one when you’re ready.

How long until I see progress?

You might see progress within just your short drum lesson.  Many students walk away from their drum lessons able to play grooves they couldn’t have played when they walked in.  And the more you practice, the faster you’ll get better!

What’s your cancellation policy?

Life happens…I get it. If you need to reschedule, just try to give me at least 24 hours’ notice. No-shows or last-minute cancellations are asked to pay 50% of the lesson fee to keep things fair.

If you’re on the monthly pre-booking plan (4 lessons scheduled in advance), those lessons are non-refundable if missed—but the last lesson is already 50% off. So even if you miss one, you’re not losing the full price. That plan's designed to reward consistency and help you keep your momentum.

How often should I practice?

There's no right answer to this. The more you put into this instrument, the more it will give back.  That being said,  if you practice for 15-30 minutes a day, at least 3-4 times, you’ll see consistent improvement.

Do I need to read music?

No.  Although reading music will become essential for intermediate and advanced players, it’s not necessary for a while.  I use a simple number system that’s so easy to read, you might pick up on it without me even having to give you any direction.

Do I teach how to read music?

Yes.  Although I don’t believe it's essential for beginners, reading music or even just basic drum notation will be essential in time.

Is it too late to start as an adult?

Absolutely not. I’ve taught plenty of adult beginners in their 30s, 40s and beyond. It’s never too late.

Can’t I just learn on YouTube?

YouTube has its place, but it can’t replace real feedback. A good teacher will correct your technique, keep you motivated, and make sure you’re on the right path.

What if I want to pre-book a month of lessons?

You can! If you pre-schedule and commit to 4 lessons in a month, your 4th lesson will be 50% off. There are no refunds for missed lessons under this option, but it’s a great way to stay consistent and save at the same time.

Do I need to bring anything to my first lesson?

3 Things!  Yourself 🙂 A binder to keep all your papers in, and if you have sticks, great—bring them. If not, I’ll have a pair ready for you. In fact, if it’s your first free lesson, those sticks are yours to keep.
